New Locker Room
The New Locker Room project is being funded by the MGSH Boys and Girls Hockey Booster Clubs, we are also working with a professional fundraising group to raise the money to fund the project. A committee from both the boys and girls program was formed last year (Jim Koltes, John Rebhorn, Gary Stefano, Jim Holland, Chris Dopp and Todd Elmer), over the last month they have recruited parents from the boys and girls program to participate on the committee. Bringing the total number of people on the committee to about 20, with that said we have divided the committee into 3 separate areas to concentrate on - Fundraising, Rebidding and Golf Tournament.
At this time the goal completion date for the New Locker Rooms is scheduled for November 1, 2008
Rebidding - the first bids came in and they were way over the original estimate. The rebidding committee will be working on obtaining new bids for the project in the next couple of weeks.
Fundraising - fundraising from the professional fundraising group hasn't gone as well as expected and part of the problem with this was that it hasn't been clearly defined what we are selling. With the help of this committee, directions and initiatives have been put into place. To date we have $150,000 secured line of credit from Premiere Banks and $50,000 in secured donations from individuals and businesses. More to come over the next couple of weeks on this.
Golf Tournament - this golf tournament will be an annual fundraising effort to support the Locker Room project, the first annual is scheduled for Tuesday June 17, 2008. We will be looking for 36 groups of golfers, and hole sponsors for those interested. Again more information to come over the next couple of weeks on this.
5/13/08 - The Booster Club is planning to conduct the Summer STP program as currently scheduled. Details are being worked out on how to make the transition following the change in coaching staff. Tom Hirsch and Tony Olson will be the primary instructors, with the hope that the new coach will also be involved after he/she has been hired by the High School.

The Booster Club meets the second Monday of every month at the Maple Grove Community Cener at 8:00 pm in room 129. Meetings generallly last about 1 hour. All parents are welcome to attend.
